Lower unit constructed of steel magnetic housing coated with pure aluminium - "Ivadized" to provide a sacrificial barrier to corrosion. Aluminium coating "self-heals" from scratches and provides unmatched protection in abrasive shallow water use.
Special low-copper, low-corrosion alloy in all cast-metal components sends salt to bed without its supper.
Every fastener and control cable is made of corrosion-proof stainless steel (Foot-operated models).
All fasteners are stainless steel; any in "wet" locations are coated to further protect from galvanic corrosion.
Anodized aluminium mount components remove the threat of galvanic corrosion.
New weedless 3-blade, composite Machete prop standard on all MotorGuide Saltwater Series models is quieter, faster and more efficient.

MotorGuide's Pulse Width Modulation is available on selected models and utilises your battery's power more efficiently to help you maximise your time trolling. Electrical energy is sent to the motor in discrete, high frequency, full power bursts that do not have the energy loss experienced with conventional resistor speed controls. As a result running time between charges on a battery are greatly improved.
