| Suzuki Marine will launch its first 100-horsepower 4-stroke, the Suzuki DF100 in the Australian and New Zealand markets in Winter 2008.
The new DF100 features cutting edge technology and is built around a 118.9 cu. in. inline 4-cylinder Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) powerhead with four-valves-per-cylinder for plenty of muscle.
Haines Suzuki Marine general manager, Greg Haines said the Suzuki’s DF100 was designed to give boaties unprecedented power on the water, without compromising fuel efficiency.
“The engines feature digital multi-point electronic fuel injection, a tuned and water-cooled intake system and a water-cooled fuel rail to optimise power and performance, together with Suzuki’s race proven 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust system.
“Suzuki’s proven offset driveshaft moves the DF100’s centre of gravity forward, for an overall compact design and better balance on the transom,” Greg Haines said.
Available in 20- and 25-inch shaft versions, this combination of size, balance and smooth power makes the new DF100 ideal for a wide range of applications, including small centre consoles, fishing vessels, runabouts, aluminium boats and recreational craft.
Greg Haines said Suzuki’s powerful 2.59 final drive ratio delivered quick hole shots.
“Thanks to Suzuki’s wealth of high-performance features, the DF100 also delivers great top end performance, and the fuel efficiency to expand your cruising and fishing horizons.
“Having the leading 100-horsepower outboard which is a clean, efficient and reliable 4-stroke will continue to give Suzuki a competitive edge in the Australian and New Zealand boating markets,” Greg Haines said.
As Australia’s fastest growing outboard engine brand, Suzuki already offers a full range of advanced 4-stroke outboards from a small and portable 2.5 horsepower all the way up to the class-leading Big Block 300 horsepower V6 which are available exclusively through the Suzuki Marine dealer network.
The new DF100 along with fellow 2009 new releases the Suzuki DF70, DF80, and DF90, were unveiled for the first time at the 2008 Miami International Boat Show on February 14th.
